What Rhyter Times is

Rhyter Times is an independently operated news aggregation and analysis service. We pull from 400+ public RSS feeds and other public sources, then use AI to help organize, summarize, and cross-reference that reporting, always with clear attribution and a link back to the original outlet. We don't send reporters anywhere, and we don't claim to break news first. See our Methodology page for exactly how that works.

Who operates it

Rhyter Times is an online news-aggregation publication operated by Aristocles Pty Ltd, based in Victoria, Australia. It is run by a single founder with no employees and no editorial staff. There is no newsroom behind this site, and we don't claim one.

“Rhyter Times Desk” is the publication's editorial byline. It is not a person or a team: it means the work was produced by this publication's systems under the company's responsibility. Where a story summarizes other outlets, the original authors and outlets are credited and linked, not replaced by the byline.

The role of automation

Story summaries and cross-outlet syntheses on this site are AI-generated from what other outlets have published. They are not independently reported, and they are not fact-checked by us against the underlying events.

A story corroborated by at least two independent publishers (sister brands of one company count once) publishes automatically, labelled as an automated write-up that a person has not reviewed. Stories with thinner sourcing stay out of search results. No story carries ads unless a person has read and approved that version; when someone does, it is labelled that way, and any later change to the text removes the label. Anything the automated checks flag as sensitive is held back until a person approves it.

For a limited set of outlets whose sites permit it (their robots.txt allows our crawler and does not block AI crawlers, and the article is not paywalled), the AI reads the full article as private input so it can say more than a headline allows. We do not store or republish that text, we write in our own words, and every story links to and credits each outlet. For all other outlets it sees only the headline and summary the outlet publishes in its feed.

A small number of automated checks run on every generated story, looking for a narrow set of higher-risk patterns: claims in sensitive categories, quotes or numbers that don't appear in the source material, passages copied from a source, and internally inconsistent dates. Passing those checks is not human review or fact-checking, and we don't label it as either.
