By Rhyter Times Desk · 1h ago
Christa Pike is recovering in a hospital and has started walking again after surviving an unsuccessful lethal injection execution, according to statements from her legal counsel reported by NPR and the BBC.
NPR reported on Thursday that Pike is walking with assistance and eating once more, approximately one week after the state of Tennessee failed to carry out her execution using lethal drugs.
A lawyer separately informed the BBC that Pike, whom the broadcaster identified as the murderer of Colleen Slemmer, is currently moving around her hospital room after surviving two lethal injections.
