Editorial Standards
The rules Aristocles Pty Ltd holds Rhyter Times to, written down so you can hold us to them.
Who is accountable
Aristocles Pty Ltd publishes Rhyter Times and is responsible for everything on it. Stories carry the “Rhyter Times Desk” byline, which means the company stands behind the work. It does not mean a newsroom exists; see About for what the operation actually is.
How stories are made
Stories are written by AI from reporting other outlets have already published. We do not send reporters anywhere and we do not claim original reporting. Every story names and links the outlets it draws on, and quotes stay attributed to whoever said them. Read Methodology for the full process.
Sourcing
- A story is only published automatically when at least two independent publishers have covered it. Sister brands of one company count as one.
- Claims are attributed to their source. Attribution is not verification, and we say so where something is disputed or unconfirmed.
- Sensitive categories (for example allegations about named individuals, health and safety claims) are held back until a person has approved them.
Labels you will see
Stories no person has read are labelled as automated write-ups. A story approved by a person is labelled as such, and any later edit to the text removes that label until it is approved again. Images made or altered by AI carry a badge. We do not put a label on a story that its process has not earned.
Independence and advertising
Advertisers and sponsors have no say over what we cover or how. Advertising is labelled and kept separate from story text, and we do not run it on automated write-ups that no person has read and approved.
Corrections
Confirmed errors are fixed on the page, and significant ones are logged publicly on Corrections, including what was wrong and what changed. We do not quietly rewrite mistakes.
Complaints
If you think a story is inaccurate, unfair, defamatory or infringes your rights, email [email protected] with the page URL and what you want changed. We aim to acknowledge complaints within five business days. For urgent legal concerns, say so in the subject line and we will review the story promptly, which can include taking it down while we do.
